Meteorologist
A meteorologist with a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), he is currently pursuing a doctorate at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). He has worked in very short-term forecasting (nowcasting) for over 14 years and has received operational training in severe storms from the University of Norman, Oklahoma, USA.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the Institute of Physics at USP, a master’s degree and a doctorate in Electrical Engineering from Poli/USP, specializing in digital signal processing, and a postdoctoral degree from Charles Sturt University (Australia). He was a visiting professor at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation specializing in computational methods in financial engineering.

During the Rio Operations Center's 2nd Innovation Challenge, Cittua certified its solution: a smart dashboard that monitors the impacts of rainfall on urban mobility in real time. The tool integrates climate and traffic data to support rapid action, reduce risks and strengthen the city's resilience.

Cittua has been certified by the InovaTerê Innovation Sandbox, following the official validation of its hyperlocal weather forecasting and smart alert solutions. The technology, tested in a real-world environment, was approved by the city of Teresópolis for its ability to anticipate extreme weather events and support preventative actions, strengthening local safety and resilience.

Cittua was certified by Catalisa ICT in Cycle 1, Sebrae Nacional's main deeptech support program and is among the 140 highest-rated science-based startups in the country.
